Business Operations & ERP Transformation

Make the business work better. Make its systems keep up.

I help growing businesses diagnose operational bottlenecks, improve the way work gets done, and build better management visibility through practical processes and business systems.

Experience in practice

Business experience first. Systems that serve the business.

My perspective was shaped inside a manufacturing business as it evolved from a small operation into a national-level enterprise spanning manufacturing, trading, brands and distribution.

01 / OPERATIONS & PERFORMANCE

Understand what drives the result.

My work has included product profitability analysis, material-mix decisions, commercial and credit policy, inventory and procurement, pricing, distribution and production planning. The aim is to connect day-to-day activity with its effect on business performance.

02 / ERP & BUSINESS SYSTEMS

Turn real workflows into useful systems.

I designed and developed the business-side workflows of the company’s ERP and worked across implementation, testing and practical use. The focus is not software for its own sake, but reliable processes and timely information that help people run the business.

03 / GROWTH & MARKET REACH

From contract manufacturing to owned brands.

The business moved from manufacturing for local traders to launching its own brands across different price and quality segments, with distribution reaching all four provinces of Pakistan. That shift needed branding, commercial policy, sales and operations to move together.

04 / PEOPLE & CHANGE

A sound recommendation still has to be adopted.

Working closely with owners taught me how growth, control and decision speed interact, and why people resist changes to established ways of working. Change succeeds when it is understood, used by the people doing the work, and improved over time.

The growth figures describe the scale of the business over time—not a claim that one person created that growth. My contribution was across multiple functions, alongside the wider team and business leadership.

Career path

Grounded in finance. Broadened by operating experience.

My career began in accounting and finance, then expanded into the interconnected decisions that shape how a business operates, grows and uses information.

2005

Graduated in Economics. Began My Career in Accounting

Completed a degree in economics, then began as an assistant accountant in pharmaceutical distribution, where I learned how transactions, stock and operations connect.

2007

Began ACCA. Joined a Small Manufacturing Business

Enrolled in ACCA studies and moved to a manufacturing business that offered flexible hours around them. Introduced computerised accounting and product costing, and became Senior Accountant within about three years as I progressed through the ACCA examinations.

Then

Moved Beyond Accounting

Responsibilities grew into costing, commercial decisions, operations, ERP and management information as the business scaled into a national operation.

Business Manager

Advisory areas

Three connected areas. One view of the business.

The most useful improvements often sit between departments. Operations affect cash and margins; processes shape data quality; and systems determine whether management can see what is happening in time to act.

These areas sit at the core of Zainain’s Strategic & Operational Advisory, with a particular fit for manufacturing, trading and distribution businesses.

How I work

Diagnose honestly. Improve practically. Make it usable.

I combine experience and conversations to understand context, then use data to test assumptions and identify what matters. Recommendations need to work for the people who will use them—not just look correct on paper.

The goal is a technically sound, practical improvement that can be adopted, measured and refined as the business changes.

Experience provides context; data provides evidence.

01
Problem

Define the real business issue and the result that needs to change.

02
Process

Trace how work actually moves through the business.

03
People

Understand responsibilities, practical constraints and adoption risks.

04
Data

Use evidence to validate causes, quantify effects and set a baseline.

05
Solution

Design a workable response across process, information and systems.

06
Implementation

Support delivery, testing and adoption; improve the solution as evidence emerges.

Applied systems work

Learning by building. Starting with the real requirement.

Selected projects show how I approach unfamiliar requirements: understand the workflow, translate it into a usable digital product, then continue refining it through practical use.

A defined business challenge

Start with the problem that needs solving.

I selectively consider clearly defined advisory and transformation assignments where the business issue, scope, deliverables and expected outcomes can be agreed upfront.

A good fit is usually a growing business whose complexity is increasing faster than its processes, systems or management information—including companies implementing, reviewing or replacing an ERP.
